Hair Loss

Testosterone has a role in many body functions, including the production of hair follicles. Many men lose hair and begin balding as they age; however, men with low testosterone can also suffer from loss of body hair. While there is an inherited component to balding, you should be wary of hair loss, especially if hair loss is not common in your bloodline.

Benefits Of Using TRT Indian Trail, NC

Increased Body Fat

Let's be honest here: a man's sex life can be thrown into ruin when they get fat. This is especially true when a man has low T and develops symptoms like gynecomastia or large breasts. Of course, getting fatter means you're looking at a litany of new health problems like high cholesterol and diabetes. It seems like middle-aged men just accept the fact that they're going to get fat. But, it doesn't have to be that way. Men who find themselves developing more fat around their stomachs can correct their testosterone imbalance with TRT from Better Life.

Brain Fog

Many men experience changes in concentration, focus, and productivity as they age. Though it's not a serious medical condition, brain fog is usually a symptom of other medical problems, like low testosterone. Men with brain fog experience a lack of mental clarity, problems with memory, lack of focus, and poor concentration. This problem interferes with everyday tasks at work and home, but with hormone therapy, it doesn't have to be an ongoing problem in your life.

Some of the most common benefits that our patients cite include:

Benefits Of Using TRT Indian Trail, NC

Healthier Heart

A healthy heart pumps blood throughout your body, giving organs and muscles the oxygen they need to perform. Testosterone helps red blood cell production through the bone marrow. When you have low T levels, your muscles and organs will often suffer. Low T levels have been attributed to a number of cardiovascular problems, which is cause for concern.

However, a study of 83,000 men found that males whose testosterone levels returned to normal were 36% less likely to experience a stroke 24% less likely to experience a heart attack. This promising sign shows that TRT can actually help keep your heart and blood healthy.

Stronger Bones

Testosterone plays a crucial role in bone density. Bone mineral density decreases as men get older and T levels drop. This drop in testosterone raises the risk of developing osteoporosis. Strong bones help support your organs and muscles, boosting quality of life and even athletic performance. Research shows that bone density increases with higher doses of TRT. Some clinical trials recently found that testosterone also increases hip and spinal bone density.

Increased Libido

One of the most popular reasons why men choose TRT from Better Life Age Management Wellness Center is to enjoy increased libido. Testosterone levels rise in response to sexual activity and arousal. It's well known that men with higher levels of testosterone have more sexual activity. However, older men need more testosterone for healthy erectile function and libido. TRT is often a viable solution for older men who are looking to reignite that special spark with their spouse.

Additional benefits of using TRT can include:

  • Less Body Fat
  • Better Sleep
  • More Confidence
  • Better Mood
  • More Muscle Mass
  • Improved Brain Function
  • Better Stress Management
  • Lower LDL Levels
  • Improved Blood Sugar Regulation

INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. — An Indian Trail mother says she spent thousands of dollars on a service animal to help her daughter with her medical condition, but the dog doesn’t do what he’s supposed to.

Kimberly Cain says her daughter, Talitha, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 10 years old.

“Whole new world. We had to start doing carb counting, insulin shots, just everything changed,” she said.

MORE ACTION 9: Family says pool builder dug hole, did little else

She wanted another layer of protection, so she started looking into service dogs. She was drawn to a company in Las Vegas, Diabetic Alert Dogs of America.

“I got excited because they were able to deliver. They said that they could do it and I got excited, and I let my emotions take over,” she told Action 9′s Jason Stoogenke.

She bought a dog, Espn. She says she paid $17,000 and that Espn was supposed to alert them if Talitha’s sugar levels got too high or too low. But Cain says the dog has only alerted them 10 times. “Three of those were correct,” she said.

“He had a mission and that mission was to help save my daughter’s life and help her in any situation that she had that might be uncomfortable or hard for her. And instead, I’m taking care of what I feel like (is) another kid,” she said.

Diabetic Alert Dogs of America told Stoogenke it offers a free lifetime training guarantee to all of its customers. But Cain says she’d have to pay for all the travel expenses to get Espn back to Vegas or bring a trainer to the Charlotte area. She says it’s too steep for her wallet.

“I am hurt. I am very hurt. I’m very sad,” she said. “I feel I was taken advantage of.”

If you have a concern with Diabetic Alert Dogs of America, you can file a complaint with the Nevada Attorney General.

If you are considering buying a service dog for any medical condition:

- Research the company.

- Assistance Dogs International gives accreditation, but only for nonprofits. Even then, it’s not required but may give you more peace of mind.

- Make sure you know your rights (preferably get in writing) if the dog doesn’t perform like he/she is supposed to.

- If you’re worried about the cost, remember your flexible spending account should help (if you have one). Also search for grants online (for example, Veterans Affairs).

As for diabetes specifically, Stoogenke read studies on whether dogs are effective for that disease. The research is mixed.

INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. (WBTV) - A homeowners association is asking a man to take down his Pride flag in Union County.

Nick Crowley has lived along Council Fire Circle in the Holly Park neighborhood in Indian Trail, flying his Pride flag outside for nearly 20 years. He was surprised to receive a violation from the HOA on Monday stating that he cannot have the flag on his property.

“Your home can have a small flag in the front bushes but not one on the house itself,” read the violation.

The fine print goes on to say that “no...erection of or changes or additions in flags, other than the United States official flag...shall be commenced, erected or maintained on any portion of the Property.”

“If you walk around the neighborhood there’s other flags with different countries, different sports teams or whatever it is,” Geral Sangandi, Crowley’s neighbor, said. “Why is that an issue?”

WBTV spoke with nearby homeowners with flags other than American flags. They said they hadn’t received a violation.

“I was hurt. I was very hurt,” Crowley said.

While Crowley said he received a similar notice about a Pride flag with a former HOA 10 years ago, he had consulted an attorney then, and believed the issue to be resolved.

“I completely respect HOAs and I understand that they are to preserve the value and the beauty of a community,” Crowley said while adding he simply wants to show who he is in the place he calls home.

The letter from the homeowners association states Crowley could be fined if not the matter is not addressed.

WBTV got in touch with the company that acts as the liaison for the homeowners association to ask for a response. We have yet to hear back from the HOA.

INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Neighbors in several Indian Trail communities are accusing internet installers of causing extensive damage to their properties.

Many residents say they expected to see some damage during Open Fiber USA‘s installation but weren’t anticipating the extent of what they saw.

“There’s going to be issues from this type of business and job and digging anyway, but not to this extreme,” said resident Heather Kalus. “Personally, for me, I think that the process was rushed.”

Klaus says out of the 34 homes on her street, more than half are dealing with some property damage. Frustration stems from cracked driveways to ripped-up yards and slanted light posts.

Other damage isn’t easily seen, but neighbors say multiple irrigation systems have been broken.

“It’s construction, and construction inherently means things are being changed, and that change can drive a lot of emotion for a lot of people,” said Bill Grogan, the VP of Franchise for Open Fiber.

Grogan admits the process can be concerning for homeowners, and that’s why, before construction, the company acquires all permits for the project and does its best to communicate with property management and all those potentially impacted.

“You know, we help ourselves by videoing in advance of construction to document what is already broken because there are older neighborhoods in Charlotte,” Grogan said. “If it wasn’t broken before, it is us, and we own it.”

Any major issues are addressed immediately, according to Grogan. Cosmetic damages to driveways or sprinkler systems are ticketed and repaired after construction.

The company says it offers a one-year guarantee on all repairs.

“You know, you are going to have your negatives and positives,” Kalus said. “I am sure that there are a lot of people who have had great experiences, and I am glad for that. Unfortunately, this has not happened with the majority of our area right now in Indian Trail.”

CATS express bus to continue serving Union County after recent town, county leader votes

Indian Trail town leaders voted to continue funding the transit service after Union County commissioners asked local jurisdictions for funding.

INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. — While Union County commissioners voted earlier in June to end an express bus service offered by the Charlotte Area Transit System between their county and Uptown Charlotte, the route is expected to remain active after leaders at both the county level and within the town Indian Trail now supporting the service, CATS announced Thursday.

Indian Trail's town council voted 5-0 on June 13 to continue funding for the 74X route to Uptown Charlotte. The unanimous vote means Indian Trail will spend about $18,000 to maintain the stop, according to a letter from the town manager. This means residents who use the bus to commute to Charlotte will be able to continue boarding the bus at The Union Towne Center Park & Ride, which is located at 5850 E. Hwy 74 in Indian Trail.

City leaders in Monroe, meanwhile, have yet to make a decision on funding their own 74X stop. If the city council opts to continue funding Monroe's stop, service remains unchanged. However, should funding from Monroe stop, the 74X will terminate in Indian Trail beginning October 2.

Union County commissioners cited decreasing ridership and the cost of running the service during its April 17 meeting. However, the board of commissioners did consider public feedback from upset riders during a more recent meeting on June 19. One resident's feedback said they relied on the 74X daily, and another said the comment they would like to write "wouldn't be very nice". Another rider said using the 64X route, the adjacent express bus with service terminating in Matthews, would be inconvenient as they live 12 miles from that stop, whereas the 74X stop is just two miles away from them.

County commissioners ended up voting in favor of continuing the 74X service to Indian Trail while requesting funding from local jurisdictions within Union County for the service.

"CATS is pleased to continue its partnership with Union County and Indian Trail to provide express service to the region," a CATS spokesperson said Thursday.

In their most recent decision, officials also cited the forthcoming reopening of exclusive bus lanes on US 74 as a benefit of the service. In Feb. 2022, Charlotte city leaders agreed to pay $750,000 to reopen the lanes, which have not been used since 2017. The lanes provide dedicated space for buses and emergency vehicles for approximately six miles: from Uptown Charlotte to Wallace Lane. The lanes were supposed to reopen by the end of 2022 but still remain closed.
